Leena and Nima, a Middle Eastern couple from LA, were determined to find the perfect wedding venue for their luxe Persian wedding in Tulum. After a long search and many visits with their family to check everything, this beautiful couple decided on Mia Tulum Restaurant & Beach Club.

As both Leena and Nima have very traditional families and strong cultural values, it was important for them to incorporate aspects of Iranian and Persian traditions into their wedding. Because of this, they hired a wonderful ceremony specialist from Iran that worked alongside us, to make sure every cultural aspect of their Persian ceremony was correct.

Our loved up couple started their big day in Chiringuito-Tulum, where hair and makeup specialist Zoe Elizabeth made Leena and her bridesmaids into one of the most stunning bridal parties we’ve ever seen. Leena chose an elegant crepe gown by Sarah Seven and shimmering silver Gucci heals to match. To bring a touch of the Middle East to her look, she also added delicate diamond rings from Iran that Nima’s parents gave to her that morning.

With 145 guests attending their Luxe Persian wedding, our happy couple knew that their day was going to be extremely busy, so they decided to opt for a first look photo shoot with Memory Box Photography before their ceremony. Not only does this allow Leena to have photos when her hair and makeup are looking their best, but a first look photoshoot also melted away any nerves before our couple walks down the aisle.

After the photographers had captured some very special moments between Nima and Leena, it was time for our bride and groom to head to their ceremony. It was extremely important for them to incorporate a traditional Perisian Sofreh Aghd table in their ceremony, so every care was taken by the Mango Weddings & Events team to make sure each tiny detail was perfect. Another aspect that was extremely important to the newlyweds were the flowers. Leena wanted big, beautiful blooms, grand centrepieces and impressive bouquets throughout every inch of her wedding and reception. The impressive work of Vanessa Jaimes truly brought this to fruition with their eternity circle wedding arch bursting with fresh flowers and Leena’s stunning eucalyptus studded bridal bouquets.

As their guests took to their seats, the soft sounds of a violin and guitar duo filled the air. Then, as the captivating Leena appeared at the end of the aisle, everyone seemed to hold their breath. The wedding was truly breathtaking, you could see the importance to both their families of this blended ceremony. Not a dry eye was left after Leena and Nima said their vows and promised their eternal love for one another.

After a truly magical ceremony, the wedding guests retired to the lounge area to enjoy the cocktail hour. It was important for Leena and Nima’s family that there were alternatives to the usual alcoholic beverages served during this time, so our couple opted for fresh coconuts, complete with their initials, and a fully equipped tea and coffee station instead. Once everyone had freshened up and had time to mingle, the wedding party headed into the on-site restaurant at Mia Tulum Restaurant & Beach Club to begin the wedding reception.

The newlyweds opted for a long bridal party table of 22 seats, rather than a sweetheart head table, so they could be surrounded by their closest friends and family. Each table was thoughtfully decorated by pampas grass and fresh flowers with pops of coral and orange. The decoration of their boho wedding reception blended perfectly with the rustic nature of Mia Tulum’s restaurant.

Once everyone had enjoyed a delicious Mexican-inspired prepared meal, it was time to get the party started. Nima and Leena kicked things off with some surprise entertainment for their wedding guests, a water drum show. Everyone adored this magical performance, so much so that even their grandparents got up to give it a go. After countless laughs, a few tears of joy and hours of dancing under the glittering disco ball, it was time to give the happy couple a beautiful sparkler send-off.

We are so very grateful to Leena and Nima for trusting us with their special day. They paid so much attention to the little details of their wedding, so it was an absolute pleasure to be able to make their dream luxe Persian wedding in Mia Tulum a reality. Everyone at Mango Weddings & Events wishes them every happiness in their many years to come.
