ROSEWOOD MAYAKOBA

For Rahul and Diana, there was no doubt in their mind that Rosewood Mayakoba was the wedding venue for them. Not only is this luxury resort filled with lush tropical beauty and world-class service, but it’s also the place that this lovely couple first met.

As the newlyweds had already been legally wed in a courthouse back in the states, it was extremely important for bride Diana that this wedding be all about friends and family celebrating their love. To honour this, they started the week with a boat trip for the wedding party, plenty of time soaking up the sun on the beach and even a Mexican taco party.

After days of fun in the sun and relaxing at Rosewood Mayakoba, it was time for the big day. Diana spent the morning getting ready in a luxurious suite in the resort with her mother and bridesmaids there to help out. As an elegant twist on your usual colour pallet, our bride opted for her bridesmaids to be dressed in simple but chic black dresses. Once her hair and makeup were perfect, Diana took some time to do a quick photo shoot with her closest friends to ease her nerves a little before heading to the ceremony.

As Rahul’s wife to be came into view, a string quartet began to play and their guests swooned over her flowing white gown. Our newlyweds chose to say “I do” in the tropical gardens at Rosewood Mayakoba and had a large triangular wedding arch built by Vanessa Jaimes to pull the whole affair together. After declaring their love for one another in front of their nearest and dearest, Rahul and Diana skipped off to enjoy a private photoshoot with photographer Elizabeth Lanier. Our bride chose this particular photographer as she instantly fell in love with her light, airy and timeless style.

While the couple were getting the perfect shot, their guests enjoyed some rather unusually named cocktails. One of the most important things for Rahul and Diana are their four pet rabbits. So, because they couldn’t be there on their big day, we created cocktails in the names of their beloved pets. Finally, the bride and groom rejoined their guests and everyone made their way to the wedding reception.

Diana wanted a minimalist aesthetic that gave a modern, elegant look with a touch of tropical flair. We opted for extravagant Victorian chandeliers, cascading orchid centrepieces, flickering white candles and lush white drapes to achieve her dream wedding reception.

After eating a delicious meal and dancing the night away to a special DJ that the couple flew in from the states, it was time for our loved up couple to make their exit. It was always a dream of Diana’s to have a sparkler exit on her wedding day, and her guests definitely did this justice. Diana and Rahul walked through the rows of their guests showering them in glittering light as they made their way back to their stunning honeymoon suite at Rosewood Mayakoba.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a determined and creative couple. Their romantic story inspired us to create this elegant, dreamy wedding in one of the top resorts in the Riviera Maya. We wish Diana and Rahul a long and happy life together. Thank you for choosing Mango Weddings to make your wedding dreams a reality.
