AN ELEGANT CATHOLIC WEDDING IN XCARET

Our lovely bride and groom Marie and Jorge wanted a wedding that was traditional, Catholic and elegant with a hint of magic, and their dreams came true at Xcaret.

This impressive wedding started in the Chapel of Guadalupe, one of the most unusual and awe-striking churches in Mexico. All of their guests were seated as Marie appeared at the church entrance. In front of her, a large stone staircase spilled to the bottom of the church, where the love of her life Jorge waited on a floating platform over a glittering cenote.

As the couple said their vows under the Virgin Mary tree, whose roots reach down forming a breathtaking canopy, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was very important to Marie and Jorge to have a Catholic wedding ceremony, so the Chapel of Guadalupe with an ordained priest was the perfect location for them.

After a ceremony that no one could ever forget, the guests made their way to the Hacienda Henequenera to enjoy an exotic cocktail, while the newlyweds left to have a photoshoot with the wonderfully talented Fer Juaristi. It was important to Marie that all of her photos had a dark, vivid and candid feel, and Fer Juaristi managed to make this dream an artistic reality.

Once the perfect shots had been taken, our couple joined their guests in the twentieth-century style Hacienda to begin their wedding reception. Hacienda Henequenera is an almost perfect replica of an antique agave estate, and perfectly reflects Jorge’s Mexican heritage. Following Marie’s wish for a romantic and dimly lit venue, we placed over 400 glass droplets, each filled with a flickering candle to light this wondrous wedding in Xcaret.

Once everyone had eaten, the festivities were started by an extremely talented Mariachi band and incredible live Jarabe Tapatío dancers. After the show, it was time for the newlywed’s first dance, which was topped off with a breathtaking firework display. This was the DJ’s cue, as he began pumping the hottest tunes for the entire wedding party to enjoy. Marie, Jorge, and their elated guests danced the night away, relaxed in the cigar and whiskey lounge area and laughed long into the early hours. The perfect end to a more than perfect Xcaret wedding.

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to put together such a unique and spectacular wedding for Marie and Jorge. Their love for each other spilled out into their wedding plans and allowed us to create the perfect day for them. We wish this beautiful couple years of joy and happiness, and many more exciting adventures together.
