Colour, culture and love were the themes of this spectacular bohemian style wedding. Michael and Lauren really wanted to celebrate the country they chose for their destination wedding, so a vibrant Mexican theme also ran throughout the day.
On the morning of the big day, our groom Michael stood waiting patiently below a canopy of colorful ribbons that hung from an ancient tree. Their wedding guests were seated and a lull of silence fell over the small crowd as the Mariachis began to play and Lauren, a vision in white, entered the WILD Tulum restaurant. Her bohemian style wedding dress hung gracefully off her shoulders and she clutched a bouquet of bright red, burnt orange and yellow flowers.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as this young couple professed their love and devotion to each other in the dappled sunlight and shared their first kiss as husband and wife. As the unique wedding ceremony concluded, the guests retired to their tables to enjoy a cocktail or two while our newlyweds strolled off to enjoy a private photo shoot with MemoryBox Photography.
It was very important to Michael and Lauren to keep a very intimate and casual atmosphere throughout their wedding, and the cozy, relaxed vibes of WILD Tulum made for the perfect wedding venue. Everyone welcomed back the bride and groom then dug into a delicious family-style dinner. Each table was dressed with warm toned flowers from a local florist and a colorful embroidered Mexican table runner.
After dinner, our newlyweds decided to once again shun tradition by offering up Mexican churros for dessert instead of a traditional wedding cake. These small touches truly made this vintage style wedding personal to Michael and Lauren and gave them a Mexican experience the wedding party will never forget.
Once everyone was filled with delicious food and crunchy churros, the DJ started to play and the entire restaurant came alive with laughter and dancing. Lauren, Michael, and their loved ones danced long into the night, celebrating the union of this perfect couple.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a beautiful and youthful couple like Lauren and Michael. Everyone at Mango Weddings and Events enjoyed every aspect of the wedding planning process, from the initial vintage, bohemian and Mexican ideas to the final touches on the day. We wish this lovely couple many more adventures and years of happiness to come.
