PRIVATE VILLA, AKUMAL

Small, romantic and intimate. A gathering of your closest loved ones in the picturesque beach town of Akumal. Sound like the perfect destination wedding? For our beautiful couple Maggie and Robert, it was everything they dreamed of.

Located in a private villa with just under 60 guests, the main focus of this intimate Akumal wedding was the coming together of two beloved families, as the bride and groom made their union official. Of course, unique and quirky undertones were present throughout this very personal wedding, including a cute dog ring-bearer that trotted down the aisle dressed in a traditional Mexican outfit, complete with sombrero.

The colors Maggie and Robert chose were soft pastels and understated earthy tones, perfectly blending in with the backdrop of white sand and turquoise blue water. In keeping with the understated and natural theme, the couple opted for a local florist that created stunning bouquets, centerpieces and an arbor filled with delicate white flowers and fragrant Eucalyptus. After tears of joy were shed, vows were made and the “I do”s said, a Mexican Mariachi emerged from the private villa and cocktail hour began. As the sun began to set over the glistening Caribbean sea, the guests stepped over to the dining area for the wedding reception. Flickering candles and lovingly designed floral runner decorated the one long communal table, giving a truly intimate feel to the dinner.

Once the delicious dishes by Ginger Tulum Catering had been devoured and a few glasses of champagne had been enjoyed, it was time for the party to start, and our couple sure knows how to party. The amazing DJ kept the guests grooving until the early hours of the morning and the well- deserved tequila shots made for some interesting dance moves. To finish off this intimate Akumal wedding, the newlyweds and their guests dove into the private villa’s pool to cool off and follow the trash the dress trend sweeping the world.

It was truly beautiful to be a part of this very personal and romantic wedding. Choosing to host your special day in a private villa can not only save you money, but it gives such a unique and cozy feel to your wedding. We wish the happy couple all the best in their future adventures together.

My (now) wife and I wanted a unique destination wedding along the Mexican coast and Anastasia and her crew delivered above and beyond. First – they are very responsive to emails and phone calls (WhatsApp) which is a blessing for the area. Second – we were a bit late in the game by planning the wedding in under 6 months (January visited Playa/Tulum and event was late May) but the entire Mango team handled it smoothly. Anastasia was very organized throughout the whole process and kept in constant contact to keep the ball moving forward. She has multiple high quality suggestions for anything your could want (DJs, lighting, dance floors, catering, photo booth, cakes, etc) lays out the pricing and differences clearly and lets you make the decision. Then day of she was prompt and on time in keeping the set up and take down crew on task to pull off the best wedding we could have imagined. It was perfect and honestly the best money we spent in all the planning process. Would highly recommend them to others and cannot thank them enough for a wonderful wedding experience!!
