Villa La Joya, set in beautiful scenery just off the Riviera Mayan beaten path, was the perfect location for New Yorkers Julia and Simon to celebrate their luxurious, yet intimate destination wedding. Their special day was attended by close friends and family which established a wonderful close knit and romantic ambience. For Julia, an outdoor enthusiast, this was the dream – marrying her best friend in the fresh air, just a few feet away from the Caribbean ocean.
Elegance and class are the first words that come to mind when describing the style of this particular destination wedding to you. With Julia wearing a breath-taking bridal gown from Calle Blanche and Simon dressed in a dark blue suit, with a crisp white shirt, this couple definitely had serious style. Along with the décor, and colours of blush, ivory and green the ensemble came together perfectly, oozing luxury.
The day was certainly one full of laughter and fun. This was without a doubt encouraged by the highly entertaining MC that the couple flew down from New York. He not only kept the party alive but enabled the wedding photographer, Amber Kelly to capture beautiful candid moments throughout the day. The couple choose Amber as their wedding photographer due to the high quality of her portfolio and elegancy in her work.
The reception ended with all guests jumping into the Villa’s private pool. Not only was this huge highlight of the day but it just shows how much fun was had and how the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

I would advise anyone looking for coordinators to think about what they are looking for out of a wedding. Once you think you of it, communicate it to Anastasia and Anna of Mango because they will literally make your wish come true. (in your budget)
BEFORE THE WEDDING
To start, I had a hard time negotiating with the Hotel we were staying at to make it our venue. In a bout of frustration I reached out via wedding wire and almost immediately got a response from Anastasia. This was indicative of the attention that was paid to our every request. She opened up the door to many venues while this was short notice. She spoke with us almost everyday via whats app where we made our detailed decisions. During these discussions, they offered and negotiated multiple vendors for every task and every vendor delivered to a tee. This made life much easier especially with a destination wedding.
WEDDING
Everything was better than we even pictured. There were details that Mango added that we didn’t include but made the place feel amazing. They didn’t force us into anything extraneous or penny pinch for the things they added. Just an overall amazing experience. We had GoPros at the wedding and they took initiative to walk around with them to get different angles. Most would say its not their job to do this but they did it anyway. After we took pictures on the beach, Anna literally cleaned off my brides feet. Again, not her job but they seemed that invested to make sure everything was ideal and it was.
CONCLUSION
We really want to thank Mango, Anastasia and Anna, for the job they did. People say all the time that this night feels magical and while I’m not easy to deal with or please, they made it seem effortless. We were concerned that we were throwing money at a wedding that would be fleeting but alas that day created wonderful memories that will stay with us and our guests forever. Thank you, ladies, for the wedding of our dreams!
